Free Family Fun Day at Western KY Botanical Garden

Join us for FREE family fun at the Independence Bank Day at Western KY Botanical Garden in Owensboro on Saturday, Sept. 24th from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm!

We will have free lunch, special guest appearances from Cinderella & Snow White, face painting, and don’t forget to take a ride on the Independence Express train! ALL ABOARD! New this year is a community art project and Indy the Eagle scavenger hunt! Winners from the scavenger hunt will have the chance to win a prize basket valued at over $100!

Make sure to look at the scarecrow’s all around the garden made by local organizations and school groups, they did such an amazing job!

Be one of the first 10 groups to enter the contest and receive $50 to pay for scarecrow building supplies! So register now!

THEME: Traditional Scarecrow – Be Creative & Add Your Flair!
1st Prize – $75 / 2nd – $50 / 3rd – $25

Scarecrows may be constructed from anything, but recycled materials will be part of the judging criteria. Please note that the entries will be displayed outside, so make them out of materials that can withstand sun, wind, and rain. Entries need not be “tradi-tional” scarecrows, so let your imagination run wild! A member of the Owensboro Art Guild will judge the entries using the following criteria: imagination in the group’s overall approach to the project, creativity in the execution of the project, and use of recycled materials.
