For over 25 years, Independence Bank has invested in our community’s next generation of leaders and contributors. With over $2 million given to high school seniors, our scholarship recipients can be found advancing agriculture business, devoting their talents to the healthcare industry, starting their own small business and everything in between. A new tradition began: Scholarships were awarded to students in each market Independence Bank served.
A record number of scholarship funds were awarded for the year. $21,000 was distributed across the seven existing markets.
The total scholarship funds given increased each year through generous donations of employees, board members and community fundraisers.

The Marjorie Reid Scholarship began providing scholarships to children or grandchildren of Independence Bank employees and directors.
Independence Bank awards $120,000 in 25 scholarships, the first time the allotment was larger than $100,000!
