Independence Bank ranks in Top 25 Best Places to Work 2 years in a row

Best Places To WorkIndependence Bank has been named one of the Top 25 best places to work in the state of Kentucky two years in a row in the medium sized category according to the Kentucky Society of Human Resource Management and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, Independence Bank finished 7th out of 17,000 businesses and was rated the highest bank it its category. Rankings are still being determined for 2008, but making the Top 25 two years in a row confirms that Independence Bank is indeed an employer of choice.

Independence Bank, 38th in the Nation in Ag Loan Production

According to the American Banker's Weekly Magazine and the FDIC, Independence Bank finished 38th in the Nation out of 8,103 Community Banks in Ag Loan Production. Independence Bank currently holds 2nd place for Ag Loan Production in the state of Kentucky. The Independence Bank Ag Lending team currently consists of Doug Wood, and Kennan Fritz - McLean County, Wayne Mattingly - Daviess County, Belinda Wright, and Debbie Winstead - Webster County, Jim Davis, and Mike Mullican - Henderson County. This award proves the long-term commitment to our Ag communities.

Independence Bank wins 2nd straight USDA Rural Housing Award

For two straight years, Independence Bank has been the leading lender in Rural Housing loans in our region, which consists of 25 counties in the western part of the state. This product is designed for low to moderate-income families and for those looking to live outside the city limits. It allows customers to finance up to 102% with no PMI and a fixed rate with a 15-30 year term. The rural housing product is a perfect fit for Independence Bank and the rural communities we serve.

Independence Bank announces new Henderson Community Board

With the current growth in our Henderson community, additional focus was placed on expanding our Henderson County Board. The Independence Bank Henderson community board consists of Johnnie Phillips, Cass Wilson, Sonny Peters, Brent Wilkerson and Monty Parrish. After the addition of a new Henderson County President, Jim Davis in September of 2007, our Henderson County board also welcomed Brad Hazelwood, Dr Gary Jennings, Chase Fulcher, Dr Scott Watkins and Darrell Littrell to the Independence Bank family. With the addition of Davis, and the new board members, Independence Bank looks forward to continuing market growth and expansion in the Henderson community.

Independence Bank to award scholarship money to local high school seniors 8th year in a row

Since 2001, Independence Bank has awarded $148,000 to local high school seniors within the seven counties it serves. The Independence Bank scholarship program is designed to encourage high school seniors in Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, McCracken, Warren and Webster County to continue their education. Applicants are judged based on their financial needs, grades, ACT/SAT scores, essay and personal interviews. Applications are mailed to all local high schools around the first of February and should be mailed to Independence Bank no later than April 18th.
