March 17, 2009 - Independence Bank has been notified of bogus text message scam.  If you receive a text message, email or voicemail on your cell phone saying that your account has been suspended and asks that you call a 1-800 number to verify your account number, PIN number and expiration date, please DO NOT respond. 

Independence Bank would never request this information under any circumstances and does not solicit its customers via text messages.  If you have responded or feel that your account information has been stolen, please call 1-800-523-4175 to cancel your check card immediately.
